Default Help me Decide

I have an 03 Z06 with all bolt-ons and some bad *** tune. So I have some $$$ into my Z06 already. Check out my sig. Before I invest really big $$$ into my Z06 and put on F1-R kit on a 383 CID Stroked forged LS6 block or 427 CID C5-R block, I need to make a decision. I will be shipping the car to Europe in a year and will keep it for good there.I have the following options.

1. Keep the 03 Z06. You've already invested some $$$ in bolt-ons and etc. Put a F1-R on a 383 CID Stroked and Forged LS6 motor or 427 CID C5-R (even better), beef up the differential, clutch and tranny, put some big tires on and ship this to Europe in a year.

2. Sell the 03 Z06. Sign up on the C6 Z06 list and get one of the first ones. Ship it to Europe as stock or with minimal mods (if available by then) like intake, exhaust, tune, etc.

3. Sell the 03 Z06. Buy a Viper SRT-10. More of an exotic car and has 500 HP stock and is available now. Another plus is it is convertible and Z06 will never be built convertible.

What would you do. Which is a better investment? I'm afraid I would have reliability issues with a deeply modified C5 Z06 in Europe. I can't just ship the car back and forth. What would I do if something breaks? Who the hell would service a F1-R blown C5-R in Europe. Nobody.

I have seen the C6 Coupe in person and sit in it but I didn't like it that much. Front piece is good but the rear end just sucks. C6 Z06 might be better looking though.

Another important point is that I have 8 months to decide. The car has to be registered under my name for at least six months before date of shipping to Europe.

Decisions, decisions, decisions...
Thanks.

The decision is yours but a couple of more thoughts.

If you're looking for an investment and you'll be there a couple of years go with the Viper due to a much stronger resale (in my opinion). For a couple of years a newer SRT-10 will be reliable but if you need good service it will be just as hard to find as a modded Vette. I had a Viper for a few years and finding a Dodge (or any other) dealer that has someone knowledgeable in servicing them is tough. The Vipers I've had though are reliable.

Folks tell me a Viper in Europe is about like seeing a Lambo here - very unique. For the record though, I like my ZO6 better than the Vipers I've had.

Good luck...it's a nice decision to have!

Go for the 427 N/A. You should be able to have 550+ rwhp and with hardened trans/rear be very reliable. And, it will be kicka.. fast!

I don't think you can get any american built car built in the last 5 years that is an investment. It that's the case then sell the C5 and buy a mutual fund or CD for a real investment.

Getting the car serviced in Europe isn't impossible, but can be a logistical nightmare. Since you know where you are going find out from GM where your 03 will be serviced (if at all), that at least might make part of the decision easier.

You might want to test drive a SRT-10 to see if you like the feel of it before you decide to spend twice what a Z06 costs right now.

Good luck..
