Yesterday evening, as I was walking back from getting my mail, and was walking toward the rear of my car, I noticed that my exhaust plate was gone! I don't know when it first vanished, or if it fell off, or if someone stole it, but my car now looks like it's mooning people. Anway, I went ahead and immediately ordered another one this morning, but my question is, has anyone come up with a better way of putting these things on. I'm definitely gonna 3M that sucker like a ***** this time around, but I'm wondering if anyone has come up with some other way. I'd like to prevent it from falling again, or if someone is gonna steal it again, atleast I'd like to make the bast*rd work for it. Anyway, any ideas would be much appreciated.
Just curious --- if you apply your best forensic skill and look at the left overs, does it look like it fell off (all the tape is gone or all still there) or does it look like somebody helped it off?
I agree with the others -- find it hard to belive that it fell off.
I think the only way mine would come off, is a hand grenade. When I applied it the first time, I got it slightly crooked, and it was a pita to get off to straighten.

Good luck!

I had the exact same experience. Would welcome the opportunity to "adjust" mine....

Only thing I can think of is that there must have been something on your mounting point that caused the tape to not hold. I have had my exhaust plate on mine for three years and without a hammer and chisel, that thing is not going to come off.
Yep, some little cretin has that exhaust plate tacked up on his bedroom wall and his stupid parents (who are not alowed into HIS room) do not even know it.
The color matched plates you see in Mid, Eckler's, etc. are made in a joint venture with KEWL and another company. The adhesive used is so darn strong that I've never heard of any falling off if installed properly.
I believe that yours has joined a collection of hood ornaments in some punk's basement.
