Default Vert folding marks?

[reposted - got "too many database connections" last time]

Three questions regarding the 'vert top.

1 - I garage my 2000 and drive it on nice days to work. Top goes up at work. Is it better to leave the top down in the garage, or put it up? Sometimes its a few days between drives.

2 - I notice folding marks at certain points on the top. What type of maintenance can I do to keep it unnoticable? I did Raggtopp it earlier this year, and vacuum it quite often.

3 - When closing the 'vert door there is some minor contact with the folded top. I assume that's normal? It usually needs a little "slam" to latch.

Thanks for any assistance. This forum has been invaluable!

I keep the top UP when it's garaged, but not for the fabric rather to keep the inside from getting too much 'dust' and outside debri from getting inside. I've gotten a couple of wrinkles I've noticed now that you've mentioned it though, so the person that 'borrowed' it for the few years prior to me owning it may have left it down all the time.

Not sure about it making contact with the top when I close the cover though, mine doesn't take alot of effort to latch.

Todd,

The folding marks are normal. Even my 04' vert gets them. I hope that during the winter months, they go away since the top will be up all the time.

U can also try to use a lint brush for quick cleaning.

Yes mostly all verts touch the tip of the folding part. That is why they have that black tape on the back of the top.

I say just used some good topp protectant and you should be fine.
