warranty question, please
Hey, I'm looking at a 2000 coupe w/roughly 37,000 miles. It obviously is not under the initial factory warranty. Are there any companies that will allow you to purchase an extended warranty after the factory one has expired?

Bought a 2000 in March with 7500 miles on it and the previous owner (my brother) had a 72 month 50k warranty on it from GMPP that I got transfer to my name for $30.00. Maybe the car your looking at has one also. It doesn't hurt to ask.

you cannot get GMPP if your factory warranty has expired... but there are plenty of other third party companies that do offer them. Just be sure to shop around... AND negotiate! a lot of people dont know that the dealers make a profit on the extended service agreements and think that you have to pay what they are asking. I got a 3yr 36k mile warranty for my old Z28. They wanted $1600 for it and it only cost the dealer $950.

Try Warranty Direct, they have an excellent reputation. I went has far as canceling my GMPP on my 03 Vert, and got better coverage with longer term.
