Default What's the difference ??

I have considered this upgrade along with ceramic pads for appearance as well as reducing brake dust. What is the difference in these rotors and everything else I have seen advertised at a little more to a lot more $$. http://www.gmpartsdirect.com/results...umber=88926732

Thanks !!

Cross-drilled/slotted rotors theoretically run cooler by dissapating heat. Sportsbrake.com sells a set for around $260 and they do stand behind their product. Appearance is a big factor, too. The downside is that some folks experience cracks in the rotors.

I've got a set of Sportsbrake rotors with GM pads and it greatly reduced brake dust.

If you buy any slotted/drilled rotors (I have the Baer's) make sure they are ZINC coated or the hubs will rust and look like crap.

Take a look at my Baer's after about a week and 500 miles of use.

Tom:

I have to agree. Every set of Baer rotors (or any Baer parts) I've seen has always been first-rate quality material.

I just had Raybestos QS ceramic pads put on my '99 C5. I got them at Autozone. I have chrome wagon wheels and since I've had them on the car.. the chrome has stayed PERFECT looking between washes and the car is my daily driver. Switching to ceramic was one of the best things I've done for the car to keep it cleaner looking. Also, I went with powerslot rotors. I believe I picked them up for $400 at PFYC.com.

Had the rotors changed and pads changed for $70. The pads were in the $60 range. Oh, and the powerslot rotors are great. They are coated and still look like "new".. no rust or anything showing up on them and they've been on there now for a few months. (the cross drilling stuff worried me a bit.. so I went with just the slotted rotors.. they look cool) VERY *VERY* pleased with my setup now. WAY better than the stock POS rotors and black-dust-making stock pads.

too. I like my Baer rotors. Sure they are expensive, but I feel they are top quality also. The zinc coating sure makes a difference.
