Budget Intake !!
I recently read on another forum about the possibility of removing the stock airbox and just clamping on a K&N filter onto the end. I guess you would just have to find one of the correct diameter. Has there been any discussion on this budget mod? Does it work? I know there is a better way, just don't have the $$ to do everything I want to do all at once.

It's not just a budget mod. I've got a K&N filter on mine with no air box to allow air to get to (and through) the filter. K&N makes a kit that includes the filter and air duct available through a number of vendors. I got mine from WCC.

I guess you could do this, but remember you have a hose that connects to the stock air box. Not sure exactly what it does, but you may want to check it out first before you buy.
