Possible warm driver/cold passenger A/C Solution?
I looked at other threads, and did the following:
- checked codes - NO codes set
- pulled fuses 23 and 27 in footwell, went to pull #17 under the hood, and NO fuse in that position - (not used in a '97?) So, I pulled #18 (BCM) This was a PITA - next time, I will just disconnect the battery
- started up, still got warm air on driver's; turned OFF A/C
- shut off, went into diagnostics - now, TWO codes were set
- I hit reset, and I could hear the actuator motors cycling through. I had to experiment, but this is what ended up working:
- After hitting reset while in HVAC, I let the first actuator go through its cycle.
- When the second actuator started up, I counted to 4, and turned off the iginition
- VIOLA! It now works like a charm.
I had visions of modules, actuators, etc. going bad, but all is ok now.
I checked the individual settings (I have the dual control), and it all works ok....

Mine was doing the exact same thing, and I of course had visions of electronic head replacements and other $$$$ nightmares. Then, it just quit blowing cold all together...took it to the shop. It was a CCMI?? valve and bad hose. They replaced both, charged the system, and now it works like a champ! $324.00....whew!
