Default Dealer Question

Does a potential warranty repair need to be taken back to the dealer you purchased the car from....

I need my new tranny...

No. I'm sure not. It's a GM warranty - not a dealer warranty. Unless you have an aftermarket warranty that is...

The dealer of the owner choice will perform any necessary warranty, maintenance work on new Corvette. Take it anywhere you want. Any problems call Chevrolet at 800 222 1020. Save the Wave.>George

You can take it to any GM garage, not just a chevrolet garage. Unless you don't trust the dealer that you purchased it from or live too far away, many times you get quicker service returning to the dealer that you purchased from. I'm lucky, my local dealer treats me and my vette like I'm royalty.

i have been told by my service department that only chevrolet dealers can do the warranty work on it ( while still under factory warranty ). now if it is out of factory warranty ,and you got a extended warranty, you can take it to any GM dealer.

No any Chevy dealer should be able to repair it under warranty. You will find though that some dealers will give you a big hassle if you did not buy the car from them. I just tell them that they just lost any chance of me buying from them because of this type of attitude.

As I understand it, if you're using the original 3/36 warranty, only a Chevy Dealer can work on your Corvette.

If you have the GMPP extended warranty, then any General Motors dealer can perform warranty work.
