Default Got hit

I was at a Ford dealership doing some computer upgrades when a service tech came in and said a kid in a work truck backed into my 02 black coup.

I thought he was kidding but when I went outside the kid was nervous and shaking.

I was alone in the front parking lot with plenty of other places to park at the dealership.

He had backed into the passenger rear wheel with the low flatbed and gouged it deeply all the way across.

I got his insurance and called his boss as the number was on the truck and he agreed to come to the dealership and write me a check for a new wheel instead of going the insurance route.

What's funny is the kid's last name was weed and he looked the part.

That's a pretty tough deal but at least you did not have to go through YOUR insurance and it sounds like the kid felt bad about it!
Sometimes it seems like our Corvettes are magnets for abuse no matter how careful we are!
Good Luck with the wheel

I would check for suspension damage before accepting that check. Also, I would insist on the price of a new alignment as the impact may have knocked that off too. Avoiding an insurance claim is to his benefit, not yours. Good luck.

Weed, now that's funny, but it's no joke to be hit.
