I was at a Ford dealership doing some computer upgrades when a service tech came in and said a kid in a work truck backed into my 02 black coup.
I thought he was kidding but when I went outside the kid was nervous and shaking.
I was alone in the front parking lot with plenty of other places to park at the dealership.
He had backed into the passenger rear wheel with the low flatbed and gouged it deeply all the way across.
I got his insurance and called his boss as the number was on the truck and he agreed to come to the dealership and write me a check for a new wheel instead of going the insurance route.
What's funny is the kid's last name was weed and he looked the part.
His boss asked me what was he doing up at the dealership and I said backing into my Vette and then there was a pause,he didn't like the joke and said that it was comming out of his next check.
I am really glad there was no obvious major damage but I have to ask - are you sure there was no other damage that wouldn't be apparent without a thorough inspection on a lift and with the wheel off? It's very like he at least threw your alignment off or possibly damaged part of the suspension. Best to know now while it's still fresh in the boss' mind instead of waiting until the new wheel comes in and you get bad news during the wheel swap.

I think I'd make sure that's all the damage before I let the company off the hook. If he hit it hard enough to gouge the wheel deeply all the way across, it's possible there's other unseen damage, too.
