The Recall came out on 8/18/2004, so if you called your dealer prior to this date they weren't aware of any recall. As of right now they can view the recall by pulling your Vin# but don't have a fix as of yet. I was told GM hasn't supplied them with the proper instructions yet. This is what the recall looks like.

Are you sure of these VINs where can I fine the notice?
i have no scanner so i can't scan it in and i can't give out dealer logon to the site...but if someone has a fax and a scanner i would be more than happy to fax them the entire 18 pages to scan in and post on monday.
and yes i am sure of the vin #'s its on top of page 2 of recall.
WEW !!! I am not within the breakpoints ( VIN 45117246 ... built 12/03) and consider myself lucky since I would really hate to send my Vette to one of the local no-forking-clue-about-Corvette Chevy dealers for such a major repair.
I went into the website www.mygmlink.com , registered, entered the vin number and sure enough my 2004 was on the recall. I took deliver on January 31, 2004. Will be calling dealer asap.
just checked ours on the gm link, and it falls under the recall. Sly would rather take a beating than bring the vette to the dealership, but I guess he'll have to go and babysit so they don't tear something else up in the process
I took my new 2004 Z06 in on Monday to get a slight Dex-cool leak fixed. I asked about the recall for 2004's and their supposed "vette guru" tells me "no there are no recalls on 2004 vettes, I am the vette guy here and I would know". I said "well can you just humor me and check while I am here to save another trip? So he looked and sure enough he left the offfice and sent his assistant in to tell me there was in fact a recall and mine was in VIN range. It took about 2 hours for them to do the work.
Oh and I told him I read about the recall on the Corvette Forum and he said " You can't believe anything you read on that forum" I never saw him the rest of the time I was there. LOL
Well, I'm 45120035, so I guess I win the lotto and get to see my friendly Chevy dealer again. I also just noticed today that my driver's side outside mirror won't electrically move in one direction (towards the door), so I guess I can get that fixed at the same time.
