Just did a 700 mile road trip at an average speed of 68 MPH and averaged 32 MPG. (stock 99 coupe)

Never would have thought this could be possible...

(Oh yeah, I waved every chance I could)

I've heard of people getting that kind of MPG, the best I've ever got was 27.8 mpg.

I got 29 mpg in my 99 with H/C package on a 710 mile road trip when I bought it and drove it home. I couldn't believe it, but I got over 400 miles to the tank! I think alot (at least in my case) has to do with the 6 speed and the fact that it turns only 17-1800 rpm at over 80 mph in 6th...

My best thus far in my '03 Mn6 vert is 32.1 mpg, all highway. Neighbor has gotten just a little over 33 mpg in his '99 Mn6 vert.

Just returned from a 2000+ mile road trip through the Pacific Northwest. Our 2000 convertible 6 speed averaged 34.2 mpg! They were however ALL hiway miles. We changed cars to sedans/suv's at each destination. I also think the "real gas" in Oregon etc. provides better mileage as there's none of the California emission stuff added

Yes, these cars get great mileage. I've gotten as much as 33 mpg in mine and usually get better than 30. I love it.

Just did a Texas to California run a week ago and got 33.6 on one tank. The next tank fill I only got 32.2...but did a run to 155 to get away from a pesky Nissan 350Z. Amazing car!!

Dang, I have only gotten 23 on a 350 mile trip going about 75mph! Maybe that explains it, since my husband was driving!

I pulled a 27.8 on a 1600 mile run from the west coast to the midwest.
Of course that included crossing the continental divide where the Vette eased up the grades effortlessly and got 99 mpg on the downgrades.

I wasn’t trying for max mileage at all. Hit 100+ mph a few times and took some side tours cruising through National Parks.

C5s are amazing. All the power and great gas mileage too

My best ever was 34 mpg on a 700 mile trip. I had the cruise control set on 78 mph the whole way.
