I have a 2000 and I wanted to get exhaust tips and my brother had some he got as a gift from Mid America that he gave me. The box said made in China but they looked solid. First, the self-tapping screws weren't, so I bought some from Depot. Everything looked fine until I noticed on Sunday that one had fallen off . I thought I'm such an idiot because I figured the screws broke or backed out but NO, the cheap a$$ welds on the tabs broke off. The screws and the tabs were still on the exhaust. Even though my tag is YBNORML, it looked a little too strange to only have three so I went on e-bay and found a place in Michagan that said they had original GM tips for only $59.99 plus $9.00 for shipping ($70.00 less than the imports)!!! They came in today and they look GREAT !!! they fit like a glove and they include some J&B bond. These babys will never come off. Made in USA is the only way to go!!!
If your interested, they are from Chuck & Paula Pelton. You can see them on ebay, search corvette exhaust tips then scroll down to original GM parts for $59.99. Their phone # is also posted. You don't need to bid just call and order.
Soryy. I was so exited when my brother gave them to me for free that I just drilled the holes, screwed them on and threw the box away. The box did have a made in China label on it and he got them from MA about three years ago for about $130.

QUOTE=mdhmi]What was the brand of tips you were using?
Don't know the seller id but I just looked at ebay again, searched "corvette exhaust tips" and they are on the first page at the very bottom with a posted price of $59.95. Their phone # is (248) 681-4336. They came with a package of J&B epoxy and I put them on today, they fit like a glove and they look GREAT!! Need to let the epoxy dry before I see how secure they are but had a mechanic friend tell me that the cold weld holds well.

I'm a little technologically impaired. Had to have my 24 year old daughter take pics with her digital camera and have her send me the pics. I'm still trying to figure out how to get them of of my email. When she gets back in town she said she would show me and then I'LL post them.
