Default Corvette clubs question

Does anyone know if Chevrolet dealers get any "perks", or benefits, from the General for sponsoring a local Corvette club?

I sold Chevrolet in the late 70's the dealers did not get any perks or benefits back then. However it is good to get friendly with a club, because members like to trade up to a newer car and they are usually brand loyal. Buying trucks and non-Corvettes as well. Parts department can benefit too, and some dealers give clubs a discount. Why do you ask?

One of our local dealers lets us have our monthly meetings in their conference room. Needless to say, most of our business goes their way.

We meet at a local Chevy dealer, as do other local clubs in the Phx. area. We get a discount on parts and service also...and supposedly on vehicle purchases

Perhaps increased business from club members, but not much else from GM.

Our Chevy dealer is considered the worst in the area. I took my car to them, not my vette, for minor repairs in 2001 after I got rear ended. nothing big, I was in my 4x4.

Well it took them 2 months to fix nothing more then a tail gate and bumper damage. When I got it back the gauge lights didn't work and the windows wouldn't roll down without causing the locks and roof to do crazy things.

In the end they said over and over that it couldn't have been damaged in such an accident and to get my car back I'd need to pay $890 for electrical work and they wouldn't give me my truck back wothout it.

It took me a year of small claims to get it all back. No one in our club will have anything to do with our hometown dealer.

The owner is pissed at us right now because no one has ordered a C6 from them but it's not that he is asking $1k over other local dealers. It is because we have all got/told our horrible story about the dealership.

The dealership's salespeople get their friends to bring used C5's to our meetings and try to sell them. They do the 'ol, "Man that is a nice car! If you don't get it I am!"

One of the club members had their C5 in for an electrical problem for almost 4 months and it turned out to be one shorted wire to the PCM. They changed out the PCM and all sorts of stuff. he was presented a bill for a 6 month old Vette..

the guys in the auto area smell of beer even, I guess just to complete the effect.

When he got his vette he was presented a large bill..
