it's amazing to me the number of unsolicited comments, kudos, and conversations that a 'vette will elicit!!!i guess it's all part of the "corvette experience"that we're fortunate enough to participate in!!!

A few weeks back, I drove to Home Depot to pick up a bottle of caulk. As I entered the parking lot, I noticed a red Viper parked way out in the boonies. I backed up and parked right behind the Viper.
On the way out, a family of four was walking a few steps in front of me and looking for their car. All of a sudden the little boy say's, "whoa, Dad, check out that red car."
Dad responds by saying, "yeah, that looks pretty nice but check out the one parked right behind it. Now that's nice!"

i was sitting in traffic yesturday waiting for a train to pass a guy in an explorer pulled up next to me and said very nice car is it new i said it's a 2000 . he said wow looks new i said thanks than he asked 100 questions about the car then he said i got to get one how much do you think the new 2005 will be i say about $48000 for base on a new coupe !he says got to get one and his wife just shakes her head
hehehe...reminds me of a few months ago when I was getting out of my ride to pick up some stuff at Publix. One of the baggers (16 or 17 year old boy) was out collecting some of the shopping carts in the lot and stopped to watch when I pulled in. As I get out and start walking to the store he throws me a "wow...you have a really nice ride" and a smile. I said "thanks" and went inside to grab what I needed, but when I came back out 30 mins later he was STILL taking his time to collect carts and check out my car.
I made sure to step on the gas a little as I left the parking log

I'm amazed at how many people readily compliment these days, whether it be in a parking lot. stopped at a traffic signal, or on the road with a thumbs up.

Could have been his first Vette. There is nothing wrong with the '84 as a starter - I had one and enjoyed it for two years. Of course, that was way before the C5 was on the scene. Hopefully he will get a lot of pleasure out of his.
stopped for gas the other day and a mach1 mustang pulled in next to me, guy in his late 50's gets out and we strike up a conversation. i ask him if he has ever put his foot in it and nods w/ a grin. he says he wants a vette and w/ the 04 prices dropping he has the urge to get one. we bs a little more then i crank up and let him hear the stingers he grins and says that the way a car should sound.
