"ZO SIC" I always get folks, even folks that are in my car clubs saying, "Zoe Sick?" It's a play on words, duh... ZO6, So Sick, Z0 Sick, SIC = said in context when you purposefully write something incorrectly...
Other plates:
"WHYT LIE" On my '96 Z-28 all white hardtop with single 4" exhaust tip and no Z-28 badges that runs mid 10's at 130mph.
"MY DADZ" On my '72 BBC 4-spd Vette. My dad bought it new when he was at the Air Force Academy, graduated in '73, passed away in '79. Family friend bought the car and sold it back to me when I turned 18. Been restored and enjoyed since then. Gonna change it though. Too much **** from "haters", so I'm going to try and find something like "PASD DWN" Passed Down.
"I LOV MUD" On my '85 Chevy 3/4 ton 4x4 with 38.5" Swampers and 12,000 lb Warn winch.
Mine is RMBLROAR from NC.... came to me when I was sitting at a light and the Z16 was producing a very enjoyable rumble. But at about 4800 RPM it came alive and started to roar.....
I have a personal plate that I have had on my last two Vettes and moved to my new Z16. I got the idea from the old Sammy Hager song Can't Drive 55. The plate is CNTDR55. It is surprising how some people look at it and smile right away (probably because they are as old as I am and remember Sammy or the stupid 55 speed limit years ago. Others take a while, but in the end most people seem to find it entertaining. One highway patrolman that looked at it and got it laughed and said "Job security."
My Nevada plate reads Z06 Z16. The Nevada standard issue plate provides for 7 letters or numbers and thus a "natural" space between the Z06 and Z16 occurs with the use of only 6 of the seven spaces.
The logic used was:
1) A gazillion C5s were produced from 1997 through 2004 due to the general popularity of the car and the hyper economy of the late 1990s and the volume production carryover into the early 2000s.
2) A Z06 C5 "from the rear" has the general appearance of "just another C5" since no factory badging identifies the car from the back and only the small badges and the cooling vents/screens in front of the rear wheel wells identify the Z06 from the side.
3) Now with my Z06 Z16 Nevada license plate, a trailing vehicle (and fellow sports car or even fellow Corvette owners) recognize the Z06 for the "super car" and the relatively rare car that it is... and above that, the unique Lemans Blue color, the striping package and the even more limited Commemorative Edition aspects of the car is reflected in the Z16 designation following the Z06 on the license plate.
4) Many Corvette owners and fanciers alike from the C1, C2, C3, C4 and even C5 eras acknowledge and nod in recognition of this extraordinary automobile that many of us Z16 owners have had the opportunity to secure.
Candidly, I was amazed to find the Z06 Z16 plate was available at the time of my July, 2004 registration.
I'll probably never do plates, but my favorites are:
KEPT MAN
and VENOM
PS- Why are vanity plates so big in Europe? I've seen really crappy plates (like btd1) get auctioned off for thousands of dollars! I guess its a really big deal over there.
That's as close to my signature as the state would let me go. Picked that because my '04 Z06 is black and fast. Not quite as fast as it's namesake - the Lockheed designed and built SR71 "Blackbird" spyplane. That airplane design is over 40 years old and still holds many aviation speed records.
