You might want to reread page 24 again. This is merely the listing of detectors that Autoweek will be testing, not a ranking. From the article"...these electronic sentries will ride shotgun the next few months as we sample eight detectors for a real world long-term look."

I've had both the Passport and the V1 on a trip from Indianapolis to Dallas.
They were nearly identical. V1 seemed just a tad more sensitive.
The deciding factor for me is the display. I prefer the V1 display over the Passport.
