Protecting those seats
What do you guys use to protect the seats in your "Vettes?" I've been using ArmorAll and they are nice and shiny for a while but I'm using it almost every day or two to keep them looking good.
I'm looking for a product that will make 'em look good and not get all cracked looking after several years normal usage.
What has worked for you? I'd like to hear from those who have had your cars several years and whose seats still look really good... Thanks
You might check out the Car Care Products section of the Forum which is for the discussion of these type topics. Several knowlegeable people hang out there and I noticed a thread along the line of your question just started there not too long ago.
BTW, welcome to the Forum!

I use Tanners' Preserve conditioner about once a year. The seats look like new -- absolutely no cracks. But my '99 is not a daily, or even weekly, driver (21,000 miles). Oh, and I keep the drivers seat covered with a sheepskin cover because I wanted the thickest seat protection I could buy, since I have muscular dystrophy and can be hard on seats. But Tanners' Preserve seems to work well.
My seats were in horrible condition when I bought my 99. Cleaned them to be acceptable for a while. But recently I pulled them out of the car and spent some much needed time on them. I used Mothers Leather Cleaner and a toothbrush (they were really dirty). This brought them back to like new condition. Waited until the next day and used Meguiar's Leather Conditioner. Used terrycloth towel, massaged into leather, then used clean cloth to wipe off. My seats look almost like they did when the car rolled off the assembly line. Amazing results. However, these were seats that needed alot of attention. Yours I'm sure are in better shape than mine were. Use the Meguiar's Conditioner. Made my seats soft and will surely help with preventing future cracking of the leather. MHO.
Personally, I would NEVER use ArmorAll on seats. First, that stuff is just too slippery and you'll end up sliding on the seat. Not a good thing.
Secondly, I've had that stuff stain my clothes.
Third, it actually dries out the material, which is why you're seeing the need to use it so often. It'll encourage cracking, especially if you stop. Switch immediately to something else.

I use Eagle One Leather Conditioner on mine. Really keeps them looking and feeling good. You may also want to check out the leather conditioner that Ken King of Vette Essentials sells. It is supposed to be very good.
I like to use Zaino Z9 & Z10. You should treat the seats about once a month, a little more if it is a daily driver.
Zaino Products all the way. I used it in all my cars and the stuff works great and it does have a nice leather smell to it. I use Zaino's other product (Perfect Tire Gloss) for the non-leather surfaces and it seems to give it that great finish and not dry it out like the armorall products do (it is also good on your wheels).
