Consider this: How much is your blood pressure, nerves, and a constant bad mood worth? I'd call him up and offer to spokit the $200 with him, right or wrong, and get the car outa there.

I guess Im just the type of person who would pay the extra $200 .... its not your fault... but many dont think like me.... I hope you get it ASAP and he realizes its all on his end....
Immediately, do not pass go, do not collect $200, IMMEDIATELY, contact your bank and ask to put a hold on the funds.
The problem here is that you NEVER pay ALL the money until you get ALL the product (or service). Since your bank loaned you the funds and you aren't in possession of the car, they have a vested interest in making sure that you actually take ownership of the car. The LAST thing they want is for the guy to have their money AND your car.
CALL THE BANK NOW!
Should have been in trust...maybe he's already in Mexico.
I would fly down there and get your car. He has the money, car is sold to you "AS IS" whats to keep him from hammering it! It aint his! and its a corvette.... If you cant confirm with the truking company its on the truck in the morning. GET YOUR ARZZ DOWN THERE
Just talked to him and he's taking it to DAS tomorrow morning.....HE BETTER!!!!
DAS sucks! Call them and make sure that your car doesn't sit there for 3 days before they finally put it on a truck. That's what they did to mine and I had to bitch at them to get it on a truck then. Make sure to keep calling them and track it on the way. Call them and arrange delivery to your house as soon as it arrives otherwise it will sit once again at their station. Check the car VERY THOROUGHLY when it's delivered. My car was an absolute mess by the time it got to me and I had it shipped in a covered transport. I just hope that they do a better job on your car. I would never use DAS again!
I'd take a long weekend, fly down and get your vette asap before the prev owners takes it out for a night of drag racing. I would not put that car on your insurance quite yet either!! DON't do that until it is registered in your state, in your name. If that dude wrecks it and you have insurance on it in your name, I don't envy the hassle you'll have w/ your insurer.
I priced having mine sent to Twin Falls, ID this past month (I was up there on business for a month and hate rentals) and it was going to cost close to $1500 one way. That was the estimate from several different major carriers. I'd be wary of the price he's quoting as it seem to low for a quality carrier. Plus its very unlikely it could get to you this week-end via a carrier. Most of the estimates I got were 7-12 days due to the different stops they need to make on the trip. As a fellow member, I'd gladly talk to the guy abou the car. Heck I'd even drive it up for ya this coming week-end if you'd like, as long as you paid for the trip and return airfare to Austin. I'm showing its about 1700 miles from Austin to Syracuse, UT so it would be a 2-3 day trip with a straight drive. I'll IM my phone # to you if you want to reach me on this.
I bought my '84 sight unseen in Ft. Lauderdale. Cashed in my frequent flyer miles for a round trip ticket (just in case). He picked me up at the airport about 10:00 am. Deal was done by noon, and I had a ball driving my first vette back to Louisiana.
To heck with shipping!

I bought my car a few weeks ago without actually seeing it, just a load of pictures. I did check a carfax as well as a GM service history and verified the 13,000 miles. Sent a $1,000. deposit, flew to Austin, Tx with check in hand and was on my way back to AZ within a few hours. The car was just as advertised. It was about 1100 miles to Phoenix so Utah would be a little further.
