Default Help!!!

I have a question. I have a 00 A4 and I am aware that they could have issues with the battery. I've heard the cable can pull the connectors out of the battery which can cause acid to leak on the computer. I don't know if this is what happend but today when I was driving home from work my car went haywire. All the gauges went on my windows would not work. My memory buttons did not work and Every error message known to man popped up on my DIC. My fueld gauge wouldn't even register. Went I got home I turned off the car and popped the hood and checked the battery but I didn't see anything wrong anybody know what is going on?? It workes fine now and I am not having any problems.

You would be able to see if your battery had leaked underneath it.

Sounds like you have a major computer problem a dealer will have to check out. Could just be a reset, or could be serious.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but a leaking battery isn't the only thing that could cause that.

I haven't pulled the battery yet, I'm going to do that tomorrow if everything checks out I'm going to get a new gel battery anyway. If that's not the problem it's a good thing I'm still under warranty!!

I can't answer your question, but please replace your battery ASAP if it is the original or acid type .

Hi

Your problem sounds similar to mine

Last April, my whole instrument cluster shut down and luckily the warranty covered it ...still dont know what caused it......(still had oil pressure. gas. battery and termp guages).

It could have something to do with hosing out the engine bay back in Dec 2003 with a high pressure water (no where near wiring or the computer stuff) which was stupid I know!!!! The car has run fine till now..so I really dont know what caused it to shut down...Last week I put a new battery in and hope things will continue to be ok!!!!!
