Default Question on new tires...

Got my tires replaced tonight with GS-D3's, just noticed they put new valve caps on, is this normal? I suppose they might wear out. I have an anniversary red vette withpainted wheels, I think the caps might have matched the wheels, should I call tomorrow and try and get the originals back, if for no other reason to put with the other parts?

I'm not sure I know what your talking about? If you mean the valve "stem" caps, are they not silver? That is the stock color, unless the aniversary wheels (mags) have a color matched valve stem cap??
If so...go get them, or go to the dealer, can't be much.

They are yours right? You paid for them. Did you ask them to put "new" caps/stems on?

Don't take no for an answer.

I'd call a GM parts dealer an get a price on a new set before you go back to the tire store, as well. If they don't have the old caps/stems, then they get to buy you a new set, IMO.

Get the originals back! I know someone that bought special valve stem caps and the same thing happened to them. The tire place then coudn't come up with them when the owner returned for them after realizing it later. And they weren't cheap to replace either! You should always get your old parts back but you have to ask for them.

Ok everyone relax!!!! Three of the four are the originals, I just talked to my buddy there, he talked to the tech and he said it came in one with non matching which means somewhere along the line someone has replaced one of them, it didn't happen last night, end of story, I will just try to get some new ones, and they are color matched I am pretty sure

Glad you solved the mystery. Shouldn't cost too much to get a matching set.

Keep us up to date on how you like the performance of your new "shoes". Also, let us know if you autocross or drag, or you are just a leisure driver.

Lot of us need new tires and are on the fence on which are best. Why did you go with Goodyear's?? Thanks........
