Today, my exhaust decided my car sounds better without. One of the rear flanges on the H-pipe gave up the ghost. So I pulled the H pipe tonight to get the flange welded back on, and while I was at it, took a look around. This is what I found on the passenger side:
It looks like it's due to the drain pipe right above it.
The rust doesn't look too bad, but I gotta take care of it. Any suggestions?
Also, I guess it's a good idea to extend that tube?
I have just the thing to do as I have redone a Ford Bronco frame with this type of surface rust and it has not reappeared whatsoever after 5 years. Not bad for a Ford and in the corrosive atmosphere of the swamp they call New Orleans.
Go to website for POR-15 products. Get some Metal-ready and some POR-15 paint. Use this stuff and the problem will not come back. Great stuff!

Uhh. What drain pipe is that? A/C?

Thanks. I'll look into that. I think that is the AC drain... on the passenger side, slightly in front and above where the O2 sensors are.
I imagine others will have this problem as well the driver side is perfect.
