What are you Z06 guys doing for harness bars and belts? I know the bars are the same as the coupes, but how do the belts themselves work not having holes to slip through in the seat backs? Do they just come around the sides of the seats, and if so does this work alright?
Also, for occasional road racing and drag racing, would I be better off going with a roll bar, or is the harness bar good enough?
I went for a 4 point roll bar and Sparco Roadster seats with a 5-point harness. I don't like the idea of the belts going around the stock seat (you really should use a sternum belt if you go that route).
I use the Brey-Krause harness bar, their harness clips, and the Crow 6-pt harnesses. Very happy with the whole setup and got it at LAPD.
Depending on how wide your shoulders are, you may need a sternum strap to keep them from separating using the stock seats (no holes).
I don't have one yet, but I just did a track day and plenty of people were using shoulder harnesses around the stock seat, apparently with no problems. It was also the first time I'd sen the Brey-Krause bar, and I loved the look! I'd definitely go for that particular brand if I decide on a bar over a roll cage (anybody have thoughts on bars vs. cages? Do you have to weld in the cage or do they make a bolt-in version?)

IMO, get the BK bar before considering a cage. You can always sell the bar later, they are in pretty high demand. Also, don't waste time & money on a bolt-in cage. If you're going to that extreme, weld-in is the only way.

Thanks for the tip - sounds good! Now to convince the wife I need one...
