Ok I have an aftermarket alarm system and such not, but if I drive my Vette to a location I am not familiar with, I pull fuse#16 from the engine fuse box. It is one of the two fuses to the pcm. When pulled and the engine tries to start you get every damn code in the book and the car will not go anywhere. Of course they can always just pull up with a flatbed

I never thought about doing that, but on occassion I remove one (or sometimes 2) of the wheels. Kinda hard to drive the car with a wheel missing and makes it that much harder to put in on a flatbed.
I thought the Key Fob microchip was pretty much accomplishing that, because the PCM needs to receive the signal from the chip on the key. Many years ago, my wife lost her classic VW Beetle to a chop shop using tow trucks. Commuter lot with lots a witnesses, who all thought it was a service call, and paid no attention to the name on the truck... but, I digress
Not hardly...I'm not going through all that...it's a daily driver.
If it's stolen...so what. I won't want it back and I'll take the settlement and get another one. I've already owned eleven Vettes and there's plenty more out there to choose from if something happens to this one.

just curious
No I haven't. I have however considered disconnecting all linkage in the drive train and removing the steering wheel.
Waste of time. Kids can't steal a C5... Professionals can no matter what you do... had one stolen , and I thought I had all the bases covered. like they say "Gone in 60 seconds."
