keyless remote issue

keyless remote issue
my remote was working fine... then it stopped, I figured the battery died.
So I went and replace the battery, then re-synced it.
now it only works from about 3 feet away from the vette. I even when in and "re-trained" it, still the same thing.
when I shake the FOB, I hear a rattle, it sounds like it's coming from the silver cylinder inside (ocsillator, maybe) anyone else have the same problem?

My remote has the same rattle and short range. I was going to replace the battery but haven't yet

I replace the battery in both of my Key FOBs and I have the same experience. After re-training them, they work great as long as you're sitting in the car. Once you get out and move away, they quit working. I'm really interested in the response to this issue.

Have you tried your other Fob? If it does the same thing, then it could be the receiver in the car.

what's the price on a new FOB?
will a remote from a 01 corvette work? I don't use the passive anyway.

This little device, meant to be a convenience has proven to be one of the biggest P.I.T.A.'s for me anyway - and it sounds like for a lot of other folks, too.
Of course you can buy them new - I'd check Fred Beans or Fichtner, but I think they retail for about $99. Good luck!
