Does anyone know where to get a wiring harness or switch that reverses the traction/active handling feature? In other words, when you start the car traction/active handling is turned off and you have to push the button to turn it on. I thought I saw this somewhere and haven't been able to locate it.
Thanks in advance.
GM an their infinite lack of wisdom has both active handling and traction control enabled when the car starts. If you depress the AH/TC button once, you shut off the whole system and you're on your own. If you hold the button down for 5 secs. you disable just the traction control, but have active handling to bail you out just in case you need it. It has been my contention in an earlier post that the first push of the button should deactivate traction control, so if you want to get some tire spin, you can. Additionally, if you accidentally engage it, you still have your active handling. The way GM did it, in order to just turn off traction controll, as many desire, you have to hold down the button for five seconds. Apparently, they have seen the error of their way as the new C6 will work as I described above. First touch gives you competitive mode (No Traction Control) second touch held 5 secs. kills the active handling also. This device allows you to set it up to your preference. Another mod to consider for me.
Ahhh the active handling, that is the one with Comp mode right? I do not have that. I have just the traction contol, so I thought it was no biggy for that to be activated at startup, I can push the botton if I want it off.
