I haven't had my vette for too long so this was a bummer. Went out to the garage the other morning. Place was trashed and water was spraying everywhere. Everything was off the shelves, blood and some kind of oily substance was everywhere!
A racoon had gotten shut up in the garage and trapped, went nuts. Climbed onto every shelf and swept them clean. Stuff rained down on the cars. We have a LS430 and the Vert in there. The LS suffered various dings from paint cans and a stainless sprayer. The coon chewed through a garden hose and water was sprating everywhere, and yes I left the top down the vette! A pan with concrete tools fell down on the vette but left only a few scratches.
But this crazy animal had cut it's feet, ripped a gallon jug of oil open and apparently wallered around in the oil. Then actually rubbed the blood and oil on every inch of the garage and cars. Yep it got in to the vette and even crawled into the trunk bleeding and oiling away.
GADS what mess!!
Funny thing was my wife ( who considers the LS430 her baby) was freaking aout about possible damage to the Vette.
Couldn't get a clean shot with out going through the house or a car. Wanted to through! I did put a closer on the door so it couldn't be left open again.

We get racoons too cause we live in the country, but they dont eat the car,,,we have a dog and they always go for the dog food in the bag. Hope things arent toooooo xxxxx up for you. Good luck wiht the real problem, the insurance adjusters....
I hope I never can top that one. Geeez, what an ordeal. I had a rabid racoon attacking my 115 lb German Shepperd once, and got a taste of how wild and dangerous they can be. Two pre-fragged, hollow point rounds of .45ACP ended that. Hope everything goes smooth with the cleanup and insurance claim. Best Wishes, gotta go check my garage to make sure its closed tight.
Man that sounds terrible!!! I hope you can get the blood and oil out of the carpeting. Sounds like this must have been going on for awhile. Are you sure there wasn't a couple of them in there. Hope the repairs go well.
All I can think of is another animal story. I left the windows down on a cool autumn night and was outside playing guitar near the cars. The car started rocking and there were the sounds of 2 very pissed off tomcats inside. Apparently one had hopped into the passenger window and was asleep on the seat. Then the 2nd one hopped into the car and the war began.
They hopped out just as I got to the car. Chunks of hair, skin, blood and other assorted funk was all over the interior. Interior headliner, ducting, dash, windshield, under seats, everywhere. I cleaned for weeks and never really got that smell out of that car.
Taking my engine out of the car from the bottom, almost completely by myself. Then putting the engine back into the car after a rebuild and some kewl mods from the bottom, again, almost all done by your's truely...
I've had two close calls, once with the car on Jack stands and one gave out A buddy happened to be standing in the right place and was able to hold it in place.
The other was sliding out of control on Nurburgring earlier this summer and bouncing off the guard rail. Not my best moment.

I had four shaved head gang bangers flip me the bird as I was minding my own business. Wow. What a surprise. Not.
I was on the same freeway and had some female passenger lift her shirt and flash her highbeams. What a pleasant surprise!
I saw a car in front of me loose its wheel (tire and rim). I started laughing at how that wheel looked bouncing up and down as it continued to roll along the center median. It bounced a few times and went over to the oncoming traffic ... I thought OH SH*T! A few seconds later, it came back over ... right at me! I swerved and it landed right where my car would have been. What a potentially painful and costly surprise!
Finally, the most bizarre thing that happened was .... oh never mind that one was only a dream. Hense my SN. That was no surprise.

Only 1 coon and excactly 10 hours! Thats what was so wierd, It looked like a war zone, and seemed impossible. Oh it even trashed the garage door opener by tearing out all the wires and sensors. Everything is fixed now. So I;m back to motoring
that is absolutely crazy. i don't have a story anywhere that bizarre. glad to hear everything is cleaned up. wish you could have gotten off a clean shot at that racoon!
I had a bird fly into my garage after I had just washed my car. That night I guess it was sitting on the garage door opener and crapped all over my hood.
Honestly, I think it was karma since I didn't do a real good job on the wheels.
