just installed VARARAM!!!

soooo.... my first impressions..... OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
absolutely amazing!! i cant believe just one little mod could have such a dramatic improvement! the car pulls HARD! its still 90 here in FL, so i cant wait till it cools down and i can get her to the track!! i have one problem though... hopefully someone can help me. i now have a HORRIBLE "whistle" like noise as soon as i get on the throttle. now i know its not air being sucked in, but its def. not a noise that is supposed to be there. i cant imagine what it could be
i dont even know where to start looking for the problem. but it doesnt do it while cruising, or even after the rmps are screaming... just when i hit the gas. im thinking maybe a leak somewhere?! anyone have this kind of problem?! ... oh and if you dont own a VARARAM yet... go buy one! your car will thank you!!!
I agree, this thing rocks. I installed my Vararam 2B this past weekend (replaced a pretty new Blackwing) and above 60-65 mph it PULLS and PULLS and PULLS! I had a little trouble getting the two halves to close properly, but finally got a good seal after 10 minutes of messing with it. I was even thinking of sealing the seams with black duct tape to be on the safe side, but I haven't gotten any lean codes and I don't hear any strange sounds.

) oh... and second day impressions... still impressed! noticed one thing though, i think the REAL benefit to the intake is actually using outside air rather than HOT engine bay air. today was HOT and humid, about 92 down here in florida, and the car WAS NOT performing like it was last night. my car is a complete dog during the daytime, but i did notice it was better than usual, but still nothing like last night when the temp was way cooler! now i really cant wait for the cooler weather!!

It does fit snug now.
Also, I have the K&N filter on my B2.
It's a shame that it doesn't align up better than it does.
Congrats on the install
well, i keep hearing good things about this vararam.... might have to get one too.
The whole install took about 4 hours, and the only hard part was getting the one bolt on each side where the vararam bolts down on the far side (towards the outside of the car). Getting those two screws in probably took me 45 minutes alone, just b/c i couldn't find a small enough socket.
I was a little dissapointed w/ the look of it at first, (thinking to myself, I payed 350 for this badly cut piece of plastic?!?
), but the thing works, I just wish I could get it on a dyno soon enough to prove that it isn't that nasty placebo effect.

!!!i think you are talking about the outside bolt that holds the plastic in the fog light area correct?? if so, i just didnt even put that bold back in. i wiggled everything and it was tight, so i figured i didnt even need it. it was kinda a paid to get at it.
i think the header install might be easier!!! hopefully ill find out soon!

At least the big ones!!
