Default Urgent Help Needed - Lowering Question!

Hi Everyone,

I just finished lowering the car and I have an urgent question! I actually have an appointment tomorrow morning to do an alignment so I hope someone can answer these questions ASAP.

1. On the front: Do you just back up the bolt until it will not turn any more? That what I did and just matched the # of threads on the bolt from left to right.

2. On the rear: I have attached a picture below. The rear leaf springs just don't look right to me after lowering. They are just hanging by the bolt and there is a large gap between the spring and the control arm. That seems really odd to me. Is this the way it is supposed to be after you lower it using the factory bolt and cutting the bushings?

Thanks in advance!!

I didn't know you were supposed to cut the bushing in the rear, only the front. I could be wrong, wouldn't be the first time. I would wait until the car settles before you get the alignment.

Hey Gary, I learn something new everyday.

That pic was taken in front of the entrance to my subdivision where I live. I believe from where you live, take 75 North to Sheridan East, on the right about a mile and a half up Sheridan. It is called Pembroke Falls. I am out of town, won't be back until Sept 14th, I miss my Z!

Yes, you got it right. Take it out for a "spirited" drive to help settle the suspension. You'll notice a definite difference. Hammer around an exit ramp. Much less body roll. You can hang the tail end out much easier without worrying about it "snapping" back so bad. Why more people don't do this mod is beyond me.

I only cut my rear bushing and not the front. The picture just looks like it was taken before you drove it and it hadn't settled. I would drive it a 100 miles or so before I would align!

Default Thanks everyone!!

Thanks everyone! I took it for a "Spirited" drive last night and it handles great. Can't wait for the next auto-x event. The ride is a little firmer and rougher but other than that, everything else seems to be an improvement. The 4x4 look in the back is GONE!
