I was driving my car to work the other day with the top off under some woody areas when all of the sudden I see something falling down. It made a loud noise when it hit the car, I instinctively ducked, got back up then I saw it bouncing off the road. Looked like an apple or a pear. I then saw where the fruit had hit the car, it was right at the windshield where the blue stripe is. Had the windshield not been there it would have DEFINATELY nailed me in the head. I cant even begin to imagine the odds of something like that happening but still.
Has anybody ever been hit by fallling objects when driving with the top off/down?
I hate to bring it up, but did you look in the tree. Kids maybe? Seems aweful coincidental.....

Nahh dont think it was kids, the area it was at I dont think the tree branches were thick enough to support somebody 30 feet in the air like that... I've had stranger stuff happen. Once I was rollerblading at the local st. park/reservoir and just as I was passing this one area, a huge tree fell into the ground. Had I been 2 seconds earlier I woulda gotten nailed, probably smothered. What were the odds of that?

I had some punks kick some cardboard off an freeway overpass when I had my top of the car , luckily it missed the car probably due to the wind caused fromt the car driving at 60 mph.

Years ago when I was driving my Triumph TR7 because I couldn't afford a Vette, I was cruising along Highway 101 in San Francisco. About 200 feet before one of those sweeping overpasses, somebody's tire (and its wheel) landed no more than 10 feet right in front of my car. It bounced really hard and I couldn't see where it landed next behind me. Had I been just a fraction of a second earlier that particular day, I wouldn't be here posting this reply.
Everytime I've gone back over that particular stretch of freeway I thank God that I wasn't killed or severely injured. I didn't read of any accidents that day so I don't think that anybody else was hit either.
That was scary...

A few years ago, my wife was driving the C3, and I'm sitting in the passenger seat. I glance over to my right, and I see a truck carrying crushed cars. The next thing I notice is that the hood of one of these cars is starting to lift off...Then in slow motion, you see the hood go airborne...toward us. I yell "Stomp on it" and my wife says "what?" I scream "Speed Up", she punches it and we watch the hood of the car drop in back of us. This was the weirdest thing I ever experienced.

Deforestation has caused a lot of ill feelings between animals and mankind. I would venture to say you were the victim of a run-by fruiting by an angry squirrel. I have had them throw nuts and hit me while I've been under a tree. They think I didn't know it was them, but I saw them afterwards ... they were high-fiving each other. I didn't find it funny. Glad to hear you're okay tho.

yep they are still alive. I could change over 2 lanes to get to the off ramp since the traffic was fairly heavy at the time. When I looked in the rear view mirror I seen the kid running off the overpass.
Some years back I was driving my 84 Black T-Bird Turbo around a circular expressway exit ramp onto another expressway.
Out in the middle was a flock of ducks. When I passed, they all got up to fly. One of them didn't go up, he flew abour four feet high across toward where I was headed. The damn thing intercepted me and flew right dead a$$ into my driver's mirror and busted it all to hell.
