K.p.h. Default
K.P.H. DEFAULT Does any one know how to Default the speedometer to read K.P.H. not M.P.H. for instance if you dis-connect the battery then re- connect it it will always default to M.P.H. on a US spec carI and on a export spec car will default to KPH I want the US spec car to default to KPH . I believe it is a programming issue through the B.C.M. with the use of TECH 2. How to go about it is what I am trying to achieve.

I'm not positive but that may be something that a TECH 2 scan tool can do. I would think all the export vehicles would be set-up this way but I'm not sure if this is programmable at the dealer level. You might check with your dealer and see if it is. HTH

Even though I live in Canada, I wish my car would default to mph on startup, since I always switch it there anyhow, as I prefer all of the temperature readings to be in Farenheit. I forgot to ask if the tuner could change this for me last week when I got my car dyno tuned.

I live in Canada and have 2001 vette and spend a lot of time in the US working so I drive in MPH. Whenever I start the car it always set to the last one I selected.

I understand all this but you disconnect the battery,re connect it again and it will always default to mph on a US spec car I want it to default to kmh after you re connect the battery.

Try reprogramming the computer - this may work. Your dealership or a good shop with a Tech II could give you a better idea if this is possible.
