Unless they will show you exactly what's involved in the recall, I'd insist on an alignment. My Z made a knocking noise in the front end and after they replaced the front spring they did a 4 wheel alignment.

If the recall procedure calls for it, then it should be done. Not sure what is involved in doing the repair. Ask the dealer - that way you will know what they will do. Good luck.

I got the recall notice last week and when I made the appointment to take it in next week they said that it may only need a software download instead of a parts change. They have to look at the car to know which has to be done. If it is only software it shouldn't need an allignment, I would think. Thisis a large volume Corvette dealer and they should know what they are talking about. Notice, I said should.

I believe the wrong metal was inadvertently used for the suspension washer. It's probably not going to be fixed with a software change.
The washer recall is strictly a material replacement and there shouldn't be any change in alignment settings effected. BUT... if the recall procedure includes it, they are supposed to do it (I just doubt if the procedure would include it).
