It's hard to believe that there is another hurricane making its way towards central FL. Things are getting a little stressed around here as people face mandatory evacuations and the thoughts of losing their homes. And we just started getting things back to normal after the last hurricane.
I am praying this thing breaks off its current path and stays out in the Atlantic. If it does come this way; it may be a while before I can visit the forum again.

I'll be praying for you guys down there... maybe it'll hit somewhere else this time, not that I wish that on anybody, just hate the thought of you guys getting struck twice...
I was in Myrtle Beach, SC when Charlie came through, and evacuated to Florence. By the time it got to the beach, it was down to a Cat 1. Very little damage.

I sure hope it turns too, but it sure doesn't look like it. I have lots of family down there.
OMG - We're still recovering from Charley here in Charlotte County. I can't believe it's happening again. Looks like the Atlantic Coast will get the hit first, but this storm is so large all of Florida is going to be impacted. One of the things I'm worried about is all the debris still on the ground here. (We still have the remnants of a metal shed - and it's contents - on our curb.) Flying objects galore.
I hope the folks on the east coast take our recent storm to heart and get the h*ll out of there. It promises to be even worse than Charley.
I for one am stuck here due to my health care responsibilities.
But, if I could, I would be on the first plane to Arizona. Or some other western state. I don't think anywhere on the Eastern US coast is a safe place to go at this point, based on the projected path of this storm.
I`m only 1 hour south of Vero(Port St.Lucie). Boarded up today. The vette is tucked away(undercover). I have about 60 gallons of water, 2 generators 40 gallons of gas,and can foods out the wazoo. Allthough I don`t plan on staying around, heading for Naples depending on its movement. I`ll leave Friday morn. in my truck with my 3 dogs . Hopefully I`ll come home to a house and a n undamaged Vette. Good luck to all in the path. I`ll get back on the Forum as soon as possible. :
we here in Fort Lauderdale are also prepared for the worst. Hopefully the hardest thing to deal with is no power and the high heat, but only time will tell.
well just got home from work! everything is crazy here in orlando. home depot was PACKED with people this morning. couldnt even get gas on the way home from work. either the stations were out, or there was a line around the block!!
