Default Intake question

Becasue I'm tuly sick and am planning my C5 mods before I even get the car, I've got a question...

It already has a twinflo intake, and i'm planning on adding a hi-flo air bridge and a ported MAF and throttle body. Not cheap, but from what I've read it's money well spent.

Now here's the question: Is adding the Holey intake manifold to that setup worht the money for the performance gain? I'm thinking probably, but wanted to see what the opinions are out there...it's a good chunk of cashola.

And yes, I'll have an exhaust system to get rid off all that extra air also...

It depends on which Holley manifold you get and on which engine it goes (1997-2000; 2001-2004).

Obviously adding a Holley Z06 intake manifold to a 345 will make a difference, but 2001/350 and up already have a Z06 intake manifold so what would you be gaining?

Just a thought - you might want to get the car, drive it for a while and decide what type of driving you will be doing most of the time before investing a lot in performance mods. Different tuners will tell you different things about adding MAF and/or ported TBs.

Don't get me wrong - I've got all of those things and more and I love 'em. But depending on what you're doing with your car and how you drive it most of the time - you might want to take your time in choosing which mods will best benefit you and add to your enjoyment for the money you spend.

Just my 2 cents anyway.

I agree with Cajun - if the car you are looking at already has the Z06 intake, the Holley will probably not make that much difference. For the most part also, the hi-flo air bridge provides a negligible difference. IMO, it is money that could be spent elsewhere. Nice that you are planning out your mods now - a good approach will pay off down the line. Good luck in getting your C5.
