There is a tech tip or two about this I believe. I have done it. Its pretty easy. One screw and the touch part is releasing the handle, you have to use a small screwdriver. try www.vetteessentials.com. I believe they have some install photos that show how to do it.

Kinda of a PITA, people have done it with removing the seat. Me, I had to remove the seat. New bezel part must be ajusted to fit a 97-98 seat. Read this http://forums.corvetteforum.com/showthread.php?t=880480

The Vette Essentials site has a good set of instructions. I used them to work on my seats.
