Ghost background on my HUD

I have about 1000 miles on my 04 ZO6. A few days ago, in the middle of an hour drive, a pale green image, of what I assume is all the available data on the HUD screen, appeared in the background of my normal HUD. It was at first the left half of the Hud, then the entire HUD, then the right half. It lasted for a few minutes. Some of the image text I saw was "shift" and "check gauges". I had the car into the dealer for the "washer recall" yesterday and asked him about it. He did write it up on my paperwork. They said they checked it and found nothing wrong. Has anyone had a similar experience. When this occurred, I even removed my sunglasses as I thought it might have been a glare or something, but the background images were still there.

That can happen if the light hits it a certain way. There is nothing wrong with it.

I've seen this on mine when the sun hits it just right. A bit scary at first til you realize what it is.

nine times out of ten, I never use the hud anyways.....sometimes I wish I didn't have one. The glare is something else. The only time I use it when i'm on the dragstrip so I can see the RPM's go up!!!!

It's simply sunlight hitting the mirror in the HUD just right. The manual even mentions it. Does it to me every time I pull into my driveway coming home from work...

I just have the speedo on the HUD all the time. Very handy for around town driving to just use speed as a shift indicator without having to look away from the road. Also, when I spot a LEO, I can quickly ensure that I'm okay without the tell-tale staring at the speedo... Who knows, I might be going too fast.
