I've seen photos of a mount that attaches directly to the visor mount but I'm unable to track down the distributor. I've done a search on the forum but with no luck. Can anyone help out?
Used to be Great Lakes Trophies, but they discontinued making it. No one else made one, the rest are custom jobs. I tried fabricating one, but it didn't work out the way I hoped.
That's to bad. I was hoping someone still distributed it. It looks like the best solution. I don't want to hang the V1 under the mirror. Thanks for your input.

If you have the V1 then it is pretty easy to make a mount. Here is what you can do:
Remove the clip that comes with the v1 visor mount
Go to a hard ware store an buy a piece of metal the width of the clip you removed an a little thicker. You will need a piece no more than 8-10 inches long.
Bend it in a U shape so that the stock V1 visor mount(plastice craddle piece) can fit comfortabley in the lower tab of the U bend.
Drill a hole in both sides at the exact same spot. The easiest way to do this is to place a block a of wood between the tab. and drill all the way through. Make sue the lower hole can fit a screw driver and the upper one can accomodate the screw for the visor mount.
Remove the screw for the visor mount and secure the U bracket using the top hole with the bottom of the U facing the windshield.
Slide on the plastic V1 craddle to the bottom tab and then slide the V1 unit into the craddle.
Connect the wires and you are don.
I have done this for both the V1 and Escort and both models fit good. I hope this helps.
