I use the BK bracket which goes across the front tracks of the passenger seat. The instructions that come with the bracket mention an FE that fits, and that's the one I got (can't remember the brand).

I think I bought my bracket from West Coast Corvettes. I've got a Halon unit in front of my driver's seat.

I bought one of SpeedDirect.com's passenger-side C5 brackets and a chrome Amerex 2.5lb halotron extinguisher to go with it. Here's a picture from their web site with their bracket with an extinguisher installed. They also have driver's side brackets, but like B-K, they don't recommend using a driver's side mount if you have a memory seat.

Are there any drawbacks to using a passenger seat mount? Does it obstruct the movement of the seat, etc ??

Thanks,

Mark

Thank you for your ideas, info and pics...I appreciate it. Does anyone has one mounted behind the two seats like in the middle right after the hump on a coupe???

You can't move the passenger seat completely forward with the bracket in place, but unless you're planning to transport pygmies in your 'Vette this shouldn't be a problem.

If you mount the FE in front of the passenger seat, how hard is it to reach from the drivers seat with your seat belt on? Any latch to remove first or just grab the extinguisher?

I mounted mine on an anti-submarine bracket in front of the drivers seat. The FE is for me, not for the car, so I needed it someplace that could be reached easily. After opening my 6-point harness I found it was less movement to reach down to get it if it was in front of the drivers seat. If I mounted it in front of the passenger seat I would have to scoot up in the drivers seat in order to reach it.

If you are on fire, you want the FE where you can reach it without looking for it. JMHO
