Default Removing Rear View Mirror

How is the Rear View Mirror held on to the mounting on the windshield? I assume the mirror and bracket can be removed from the windshield mount.

For the standard mirror, simply remove the single Torx screw, T15 I believe, and then slide the mirror up and off the windshield mount. Couldn't be easier. The EC mirror may be different.

Forgot to mention it is the EC. No Torx screw. There are a couple of spring clip type things an the bottom of the bracket. I can't get it to release. I didn't want to apply too much force and loosen the windshield bond.

I doubt you'll loosen the windshield mount. Just be careful not to break the windshield.

I saw a thread on converting a non EC to a EC and it sounded like the EC mirror snaps on to the mount. I just wish I knew whick way to pull on it from.

I think the C6's are coming with compass integrated into the mirror. If off the subject of the topic, I apologize. Curious if anyone has replaced the stock Z EC Rearview mirror with EC/Compass rearview mirror already and if its a simple replacement ?
