tire rim
Anyone ever have this problem i went to wash the car yesterday and noticed that the rim of one of my wheels look like i had hit a curb but i know i did not i must have hit something on the street or something must have flew up from the road and gouged the rim any fixes for the scratch to smooth it out and make it shiney again. The tire was never touched because those rubber things that stick out on the tire are still intact where the mark in the rim is .thank you charlene
Sounds like how I would explain the damage to my wife, "I know I didn't hit a curb, I'm sure of it!" Not sure what wheels you have but if they're the polished aluminum they can be buffed. Good Luck with them.

their the ones that came on the car i will look at the list of the options on my car.Yes i looked and their are the polished aluminum wheels,so you are saying i can buff the edge of the rim with a buffer just a plain pad.I have never buffed anything before anything special i have to do.Thank you charlene

Charlene - I'd be very careful with the High Polished Aluminum wheels - the finish is VERY fragile and you could easily make a bigger mess out of it than it already is. If you cannot live with - look in your local yellow pages and see if you can find someone that does wheel refinishing/repairs.
It's never going to look perfect, but it might look less objectionable than it does. If you take it to someone, make sure you tell them what you have - chrome is handled different than the polished alumium with a clear coat.
How bad is the damage? It seems almost everyone I know has dinged a wheel. I even bought a new right front polished Y2K wheel but after awhile I didn't think it was worth it to change. Now I have 5 new wheels in the shed since I swapped out for the chrome on the new vert.
Check to see how much it would cost to fix. If it seems like a lot check on the forum to see who has a wheel to sell, hint hint, or just ignore it.

There are some vendors out there that specialize in fixing wheels that have been damaged. But, some are good, some are not. Maybe someone who has had their wheels repaired will post their experiences and with what vendor.
Otherwise, check on the for sale section of the forum. You may be able to pick up a wheel at a very reasonable price.
