One of the keyless remotes is using batteries and must be retired. The local dealer quoted $120 for the remote and an additional $40 for the program. Are there any other options?

Get one on e-bay for around $15, read your owners manual and program it yourself. And never go back to that dealer again.
I think if you loose a transmitter, they need to recode them all so the lost/stolen one will be inoperative. But I think if you still have a good working one, then I think you can match it on your own via the instructions in the OM. I never had to do it before, so hopefully some one with more experience will chime in and help save you some money.
To match transmitters to your vehicle, do the following:
1. Turn the ignition key to ON.
2. Clear any warning messages on the Driver
Information Center (DIC) by pressing the RESET
button.
3. Press the OPTIONS button on the DIC several
times until the blank page is displayed, then
press and hold the RESET button for two seconds.
4. When the message FOB TRAINING is displayed,
press the RESET button once. The message
HOLD LK + UNLK 1ST FOB will be displayed in
the DIC.
5. Press and hold the lock and unlock buttons on the
first transmitter simultaneously for five seconds.
6. When a transmitter is learned (matched), the DIC
will display FOB LEARNED and then prompt you to
learn the second transmitter.
7. Repeat Steps 5 and 6 for the third transmitter.
8. Remove the key from the ignition.
The programming mode will shut off if any of following
has occurred:
• You do not program any transmitters for two minutes.
• You take the key out of the ignition.
• You have programmed three transmitters.

You should be able to just match the new transmitter to your car. Since you have the inoperative one, you should not have to worry about someone getting it and it working on your car.

Make sure you get the right pn replacement and you shouldn't have any problem. I got my second fob on ebay
I bought one of the $40 on eBay. I recieved it and could not get it to sync. I took to the dealer and he told me it was no good.I am still trying to get a response from the seller to recitfiy this. I have sent 3 requests and have recieved no response. So called a friendly dealer and getting a pair for 85 each.
Jeffy'
I bought 2 on ebay and they both work after doing the relearn. You have to make sure the numbers on the back match your numbers. IF they don't then it will not work.
I do have a question: If you lost one of you FOBS does it really matter? I thought that I read somewhere that the codes changes all the time and therefore someone that has an old FOB would not be able to open your doors.

Is this true??
It's true as long as you reprogram the remaining remote(s) you have. That's why the manual states to program all your remotes at the same time. Once they are programmed no other remotes will work including the lost one.
