Default CL Recall

Guys,

Went to my favorite Vette Chevy dealer for any oil change. I have been going to them for 6 years and they have worked on 2 different Vettes of mine. 94(LT1) & 03 (Z06) Do a good job.. They did my oil change and updated my PCM .. IT took about 5 minutes for the update .. NO issues as I can tell. I watch him the whole time. My car is bone stock. Drove her home and nothing different about the feel. So I guess all is fine.. Hated to have it done but she seems fine after the update. Just thought I would comment about my expereince with the CL recall.

They updated your PCM but from what I have been reading the column can still lock up. Do a search here because this has really been discussed. I put in a column lock bypass at least untill G.M.comes up with a real fix. Do the research or you still may end up on a flat bed truck.

There's more to the recall than flashing the pcm. They disable it on autos and install a sleeve on manuals. I took mine in and the dealer had it for a day and half and never did do it. They said they ran out of sleeves and had to reorder. I took the car without getting it finished. Really ticked me off.

Key words here: BONE STOCK. The recall should not give you any problems.

That's funny. Anyone who thinks that GM's fix will solve everything is just asking for it. It states right in the recall info that the MN6 will be reprogrammed so that fuel delivery is cut off. Great, now we can't steer, AND there's no gas. With the exception of owners w/Auto's, every single MN6 owner needs to install a CLB. Period.
