It's a car, not a religious icon. It comes with windshield wipers. Drive it and enjoy it. When it gets dirty, wash it.

I bought my '02 coupe in last May 30, at the start of the good weather. For all but maybe just a few days here in the Pacific Northwest, it's been beautiful weather...top off driving for the most part. Soon as I'd get home, out comes the cleaning cloths, getting it back to it's pristine condition. Tires shined, lint removed from black carpet, glass Windexed, polished aluminum wheels sparkling, etc. etc...

NOW, it looks like rain for the next week or so. I hate the thought of driving a less than perfectly detailed Vette but as it is my daily driver for now, I guess I have no choice. Not sure I'm ready to start washing my car in the rain. Oh well, that's the price of living in the nicest part of the country.

Considering that our weather around here lately has been, "partly cloudy followed by a hurricane, tropical storm, tornadoes" and a few other just nasty thunderstorms - it's kinda hard to avoid driving in the rain.

When I bought mine, I drove home the last hour in a snowstorm.

Ours saw the heaviest rain it has ever seen on our way home from Bowling Green after taking Museum delivery. It preformed flawlessly.

I drove mine to my g/f's house the other day in the rain.......she lives on a dirt road

As soon as I got home, I took out a hose and sprayed off any mud, and the next day once it cleared up, I washed it!

If you were at Corvettes of Carlisle on Saturday then your vette got wet!! ....It was funny as the sun came out after the rain to see hundreds of people cleaing their cars at the same time..

Bless me Father, for I have sinned. It's been 2 weeks since my last detailing. I have driven my 2004 Coupe in the rain 487 times and the snow 8 times!

I had an '01 as a daily driver. Rain, shine, mud, snow etc. I'd wash and detail it and then a day later get caught in a thunderstorm and have the thing full of mud again (so much construction here in Dallas a little rain means alot of mud).

It was very defeating, and after a while I just couldn't keep up with it.

Now, my '04 is not my daily, so if there are storms, snow etc. I don't have to drive it. It stays pristinely clean and looks great when I do drive it. It's a nice change.

That being said, I have run on the track in the rain, which is a really great learning experience.

So, the net of it is I like to avoid rain because I simply don't have the time that it takes to detail a VERY dirty vette, and I love to have it clean and shiny when I do drive it. It has nothing to do with water actually touching the car.
