Loose gas cap

Loose gas cap
After I filled the gas tank this afternoon, when I went to put the cap back on, it never would tighten. It clicks like it's tight, but then it lifts right off without unscrewing. This is the first time I've noticed it, but I didn't get any error messages or check engine light on the way home as if it were not on all the way. Could it be stripped??

Just had the same thing happen to me yesterday
No codes on mine either - I'm goning to take a closer look at the cap this weekend.

I recently replaced the gas cap on my Camaro. The old one didn't seem to screw down perfectly all the time; I dunno if it got traded or damaged at the dealer when they were fixing the gas tank, or what. I compared the old one to the new one, they looked exactly alike. I couldn't tell the difference, but sure enough, the new one fit perfectly. Try a new cap?
