Default question for Borla stinger guys...

I installed the Corsa indy exhaust with the x pipe and I still get a bit of popping when decelerating. Do you guys get any popping with the stingers??

I installed a set of Stingers with stock exhaust system and got the popping sound. I then add a set of LG long tube headers, high flow cats and X pipe and I still get the popping sound.

I can increase the popping sound by reaching higher rpm and then letting off of the throttle in stead of shifting to the next gear and then down shifting as I slow down.

I really like the popping sound as well as the entire sound of the exhaust system.

Oh great! I just wanted to make sure it wasn't just the corsa system. I'm glad that the other exhausts do it oo. that makes me feel better. Thanks!

Yes, some like, some don't. I think you need headers or an X pipe to get rid of it.

I have just the Borla, and no other exhaust mods. I get a little popping, and can make it worse by getting on it, and then short shifting. Not sure why.

This FRC had Corsa Tourings and factory Hpipe on it when I got it and the popping was really loud, crisp and aggravating.

I put a set of Stingers on with a Magnaflow Xpipe and the popping is fairly muffled now...sounds just right. Mean!!!

I like the poping but it only happens when letting off the gas in 3rd or 4th at about 3-5k.
I like the popping noise BTW, makes the vette sound like a race car.

To further complicate the concern (although I love the popping), a GM certified tech (whatever that's worth) indicated to me that at higher RPMs the popping damages exhaust valves. While that may be true (expecially over the long run), I doubt there is any quantified measurement of just how much damage is actually done by the detonation. I further question whether the popping is actually new with the cat-backs, or just more apparent (thus the stock exhaust would be just as "damaging."
