Default Suspension Questions

Hows' it going guys!

I have been reading about Hotchkis/Bilstein combo and was curious if that is a good set-up to go with for Auto-X or Road Courses. I was thinking about the Z06 suspension but how does it compare to some other top brand suspensions (please name)? If you can also please give the pricing on them.

This is for a 1999 Coupe. Thanks alot!

I can't help you but don't get discouraged. Someone will come back with some good info for you.

I've got the Hotchkis/Bilstein set up on my 00 Z51 lowered coupe. You should first check the class requirements of whatever the sanctioning body is you will be racing in for what is allowable for the class you want to run in. After market sway bars can bump you into a different class. So if you want to run in stock novice - you might consider that before making the change first.

As to my set up, as mentioned it is Hotchkis sway bars and Bilstein shocks on a Z51, with SS brake lines and brake bias spring to help neutralize the car on Kumho Ecsta MX tires with .5 degrees of negative camber. I prefer less weight transfer and try to keep the car flat or have a little more oversteer with the tail of the car. Basically I'm very happy with this set up.

You might check out the Forum's Autocross/Road Course section as there are some extremely knowledgeable folks over there who can give you finite answers to your questions.

Good luck
