I've had my Z for a couple months now and 1200 miles of spirited driving. Nothing serious, just that I've not felt the need for cags defeat done in a hurry. So I'm on my way home from work this afternoon come up to a stop sign and I take a left 1 mile of nice road to my driveway. I get into the peddle a little grap second the front lifts a little, I just grap for third the exaust sounds great come around a bend and there is a local cop standing beside his cruiser parked up on a grassy median for a road to the left with his radar gun on me. I spot him 100 ft before I get to him, I let of the gas the exaust is backfiring (oh S##t he got me) He gets excited flips on the blue lights (must be a toggle switch) and runs out in the road to stop me. ( I'm dead this will be a good one) I can see he's excited, My windows are down and before he gets across street he yells Licence and starts to say registra----. now he is up to my window and spots the lettering on my work shirt. he is calm now, he tells me I was at 57 and rising in a 30, makes a joke about details ( my co. hires police from the surrounding towns for road work details, good gig for them) I appoligize for having so much fun, and tell him I just got the Z and was playing a little. He say's forget the licence but slow down a little around here and have fun with your new toy. All turned out well, But I enjoyed ripping up that stretch of road.
Cool ... Good ending to what could have been a bummer of a day !
I just hit 1500 miles today on my '04 Z and actually did the 1st oil change and installed CAGS Defeat this evening. I have been babying mine until now myself with just hints of what the car can really do. Hopefully at worst I am as lucky as you when I put the pedal to the floor probably on my next trip out
Hopefully, the clutch comes back up and the fluid stays in the rear end ...
