Default is it cool NOT to wave now!!!!!!

my fiance and i took a three hour ride in our c5 to lake george n.y for a big car/cruise show this weekend..while cruising the strip friday and satuday night we must have seen at least 25 other vettes and more than half were c5's..like always i give the "good ol wave" to each and every one of them.out of all that i waved to,i got only one wave back...it made me think twice about what car i was driving!!! did i mention that one of them was a c6 owner..needless to say he didnt wave either...something has to be done

Maybe they didn't see you?? I just got my c5 last week and I have been a waving fool and so far have been waved back at every time. It is just cool, kind of feels like a bond to someone you don't even know.

i thought that too but whats the odds of 25 drivers not seeing you..they are only a few feet from you in the next lane of traffic or even on the same side of the street as you..im not bragging but with my car all clean, and my 20" wheels gleaming, they must have been blind...good luck with your car and save the wave...

most of Z06 owners around here dont waive but everyone else 80 % of the time do

Z06 owners (not all) think they have something better than A CORVETTE, now something needs to b done about that

I always wave when it's safe to do. Sometimes I fell bad when the other driver wave at me and not wave back cause am too busy looking both ways of the traffic.

I mostly have good responses to waves, get thumbs ups and waves from other cars, usually BMW??? If I notice in time I wave back to everbody. However, the not waving is probably a sign of our times and the "it's all about me" mentality.

If you were at a car show, those people might have been all waved out. When I was at Carlise, I felt like I need to drive down the street with my arm hanging out of the car. Not trying to make excuses but don't give up on the wave quite yet.

I realized that the younger drivers don't wave. Maybe they just don't know. Not everyone is on corvetteforum. I always wave. And I figure, if they don't wave back it's either they didn't see me or it was too late for me to see when they did. I mean, our cars ARE pretty fast.

Default It's them stinkin' Euro-car drivers buying C5s

I don't know... I think a lot of "new" Corvette buyers are BMW/Mercedes/Whatever-Euro-trash converts. I don't think they know the "rules." Most people in C1-C4's wave... something got lost in the C5s. I know that's a massive generalization... but I've seen the same thing with C5s. To fix things, I just added a C5 to my garage.

I wave.

It's cool to wave. We are a band of brothers and sisters. Moreover, the corvette is not just a car. It's a way of life and a unique culture. Don't ever forget to wave Rock steady...

When I had my 6speed miata for 4 years I got like maybe 5 wavebacks total, and everyone on the miata.net forum talked about how close nit all the owners were. I was kinda like ......In the 2 weeks I've had my C5 I been waved at by every other C5 I've seen and a few C3 and C4 owners.....
