Car had a remanufactured rack installed and the problem is still there, the dealership stated that more tests have to be ran and they have to get with the warranty company to see what they are willing to do. This seems like a never ending problem. If someone has any ideas as to what the problem could be pls share.
I can't help except to say I had a Service Active Handling and Service Traction Control when the remote failed to disengage something or other and the seat and door controls stopped working. I turned off the car for a minute and the problem never recurred so it's probably impossible to narrow it down without expert help.
My 99 A4 was always giving me messages this message, along with low tyre pressure warnings and so many others I can't remember them all. I just reset them and carried on, 'cos I can be a bit stubborn like that. Then when my wife was out in the car one night on her own all of the instruments went haywire and error code after error came up. I had to go and get her. The car ended up being trailored away to the only accredited dealer in the UK (I lived in Evesham at the time). The error messages, it turned out, were as a result of fluctuating system voltage as the battery failed.
New battery installed, no further problems.
So at the end of this long piece of wind, the suggestion is to put a voltmeter across the battery terminals and make sure that the voltage is stable.
