My 98 Coupe's extended warranty is about expire and I am searching for a new one(the current warranty is through warranty gold and they are out of site to renew). My car has 35000 miles and is in mint shape. I have two companies who I am talking to, Warrantydirect and 1sourceauto warranty. Here are the specifics:
1)Warranty Direct is a component coverage(covers only listed parts)3 yrs/37k, $2214 w/100 deduct
2)1 Source Auto Warranty, full coverage,3yrs/39k, $1549 w/100 deduct
It almost looks obvious but has anyone had any issues with either of these companies?
I haven't had any experience with those companies but I thought I would still add my .02 to the thread. I bought my 01 with 29k miles and it was out of factory warranty, not because of miles but because of time. I bought the car from the Acura dealer in town and I bought the "Acura Care" extended warranty. The business manager said it covers literally everything minus normal wear items like tires, belts, hoses, and wiper blades.
I paid $1550 for it and there is a $100 deductible, it covers the car for 3yrs/36k miles.
Just something for you to compare prices and terms with.
I bought genuine GM warranties (from Ken Fitchner) for both my C5's and glad I did. The difference I found with the GM warranties is that they are accepted ANYWHERE you go by any GM dealer. If you travel in your vette, like I do, you do not want to be running around trying to find someone who will accept your warranty if you are stuck somewhere - May be a little more expensive, but worth it IMHO...
I went with 1Source. Have used it once so far and my local dealer said it was the fastest warranety company he has ever delt with. They covered my repair with no questions and no complaints from me. Good luck.

be careful on any extended contract you buy if it is not a GMPP. I would call your local chevrolet dealer and find out what they recommed (if they sell it they back it up) the mail order type take your money and then they don't pay the claim when you have a problem
Check out Evil Twins responses to these types of recent posts. He swears by Warranty Direct. I was so impressed, I checked them out even though I've got 20 mos. remaining with GM. It was very recent, so do a search, he had alot of good info.
